The Sagip Buhay Medical Foundation and the Pusong Pinoy Foundation are conducting Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Training for interested parties. We have regularly scheduled courses (1 day for BLS, 2 days for ACLS) you can join; schedules are posted on our facebook page PGH IM Cardio BLS and ACLS trainings. We can also conduct special courses for organisations and companies. Proceeds from these courses will benefit the indigent patients of the Department of Medicine Philippine General Hospital. 
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT COURSE
  • Two-hour BLS session composed of two lectures; each lecture should not exceed 30 minutes
  • Attendance in lectures: absence in at least once lecture and/or tardiness > 30% of the total time allotted for lectures are grounds for disqualification
  • Demonstration-Return Demonstration: Participants are divided into groups. Each participant has the opportunity to perform one-person BLS on a mannequin. A designated examiner based on the set criteria evaluates each participant. Evaluation will be PASS or FAIL.
  • A checklist is adapted for evaluating each participant.



ADVANCED CARDIACLIFE SUPPORT
  • Each lecture should not exceed 30 minutes depending on difficulty level
  • Absence in at least 1 lecture and/or tardiness of > 30% of the lecture time for any topic are grounds for disqualification
  • Written Examination: A 50-item multiple choice exam patterned after the PHA CPR Council exam is given. A score of at least 70% must be obtained to PASS and be allowed to proceed to the Megacode.
  • Megacode Practical Exam
  1.  Participants are divided into groups of 5-6 members
  2. Each participant has the opportunity to rotate to 5 Megacode areas: (1) Chest compressions (2) Airway management (3) IV Therapies (4) Electrical Therapies (5)Team Captain – will be evaluated specifically with respect to arrhythmia recognition and management.
  3. Each participant acting as a team captain is given 7-10 minutes to complete the
